Slow the Flow, Save H2O logo over a garden hose and sprinkler head

Turning drought awareness into everyday action.

Overview

Slow the Flow is a Utah water conservation initiative helping residents understand the ongoing drought and act on it at home. From 2022 to 2024, I designed billboards and web banners, then directed organic social videos plus mixed-media animations that pair expert tips with motion graphics.

The Challenge

After years of drought and then a record snowpack winter, many Utahns assumed the water problem had passed. Conservation messaging was also wearing thin, and Utah is still a desert where precipitation isn’t promised.

The Idea

Keep the message fresh by making it responsive. Billboards and web banners adapted to the season and drought conditions, and a “Real Experts” video series paired water conservation experts with mixed-media animation so tips felt practical and approachable.
