Larry H. Miller Megaplex Theatres popcorn buckets, drink, movie clapperboard, and tickets on a purple background

Building a mini Larry H. Miller’s Megaplex for Junior Achievement City.

Overview

Junior Achievement City is an experiential learning facility where elementary students spend the day running simulated businesses. As a sponsor, Larry H. Miller needed a Megaplex storefront in the space, so I led the design of a scaled-down, fully functional booth where kids work as theater employees for the day.

The Challenge

Junior Achievement City gives 5th and 8th graders a day running a miniature economy. Larry H. Miller’s Megaplex storefront was a brand-new, unbuilt space that had to teach career skills, work as a real business, and tell the company’s “Enriching Lives” story.

The Idea

A scaled-down Megaplex where students staff the concession stand and sell tickets to a short film. I led the design of the exterior signage and marquee, concession wall sign, film strip, and mission, values and heritage graphics.
